Privacy Policy

AnchorVow helps a Vower keep an accountability commitment by filtering DNS, checking device protection status, collecting daily accountability check-ins, and reporting relevant activity to linked accountability partners.

Data We Collect

  • Account data, including email address, phone number when provided, login methods, session metadata, verification state, and recovery state.
  • Device and protection data, including AnchorVow device identifiers, app and OS versions, heartbeat timing, DNS filter state, VPN/tunnel state, notification setup, battery optimization setup, and installed workaround-app matches.
  • Accountability data, including daily answers, optional notes, missed-check-in state, Scripture-save activity, partner invites, relationship links, group activity, whitelist requests, alert history, search accountability activity, and in-product messages.
  • Notification, billing-status, recovery, and deletion lifecycle data needed to operate the service.

How We Use Data

We use this data to authenticate accounts, enroll devices, keep the DNS filter operating, detect protection gaps, notify Vowers and linked partners, show dashboards, deliver messages and reminders, manage whitelist requests, provide account recovery and deletion, and maintain subscription entitlement status. AnchorVow does not sell personal or sensitive user data.

Sharing

AnchorVow shares accountability information with a Vower's linked accountability partners as part of the core service. This can include protection status, alerts, daily answers and notes, missed-check-in notices, whitelist activity, messages, and group safety events when applicable. Service providers process data only for hosting, email, push notifications, authentication, billing status, security, support, or legal compliance.

Background Monitoring Disclosure

AnchorVow runs background heartbeat, DNS-filtering VPN, notification, and protection-check functionality after the user signs in, accepts the in-app monitoring disclosure, and enrolls the device. The app discloses this in normal setup before protected setup actions begin.

Retention and Deletion

Users can schedule account deletion in the app. Deletion is delayed for the recovery window, currently 30 days, to prevent impulsive or coerced deletion and to allow recovery. Scheduling deletion revokes sessions and notifies existing accountability partners. After the recovery window, the backend finalizer removes or anonymizes account-linked data according to the product's deletion lifecycle.

Children and Minors

AnchorVow may be used by minors only with an appropriate known adult accountability partner or guardian arrangement. Minors are excluded from anonymous stranger matching. The service is not designed to let adults discover or contact unrelated minors.
