Effective June 18, 2026
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of AnchorVow, a first-party self-accountability app that you install on your own device and choose to share with your own accountability partner. By using AnchorVow you agree to these terms.
Who May Use AnchorVow
AnchorVow is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, unless you are a minor using AnchorVow under a known adult accountability partner or guardian arrangement as described in our Privacy Policy. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure.
Consent and Self-Install
AnchorVow is first-party self-accountability. You install the app on your own device, and you accept the in-app monitoring disclosure before any protected setup, DNS filtering, device-admin activation, or battery exemption request begins. You alone choose to invite your own accountability partner, who must be an adult (18 or older). You agree not to install or configure AnchorVow on a device that is not your own, or to use it to monitor another person without their knowledge and consent.
Acceptable Use
- Use AnchorVow only for its intended purpose: your own accountability commitment.
- Do not use AnchorVow to surveil, stalk, or coerce another person.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or circumvent the service except as permitted by law.
- Do not misuse partner links, messages, or group features to harass or abuse others.
Subscription and Giving
AnchorVow is a ministry, not a business. We set the price at the floor, currently $5 a month, so that cost is never the reason someone stays trapped. The $5 floor is not a stripped-down tier; it is the whole app at the lowest price we can sustain. AnchorVow is operated by Merkra and is not a registered 501(c)(3) charity, so gifts and subscription payments are not tax deductible. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period. Optional gifts help keep the price at the floor and reach people who could not pay even $5.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
AnchorVow is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. AnchorVow is an accountability aid, not a guarantee against relapse, and it is not a substitute for professional counseling, medical care, or spiritual direction. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AnchorVow and Merkra are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Termination
You may stop using AnchorVow and schedule account deletion in the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the safety of users. Account deletion follows the recovery-window process described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and Governing Law
We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Merkra operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
