AT&T (ISP gateway) routers
AT&T (ISP gateway) devices do not support setting an arbitrary custom DNS or DoH server. This page explains the situation clearly: the per-device AnchorVow app remains your core protection.
DNS capability on AT&T (ISP gateway)
Custom DNS / DoH not supported on AT&T (ISP gateway). This is a clear support situation, not a hidden half-working mode. If your router can't be configured for AnchorVow at the router level, the per-device AnchorVow app installed on each device provides full protection everywhere (home Wi-Fi, cellular, other networks). See the request support section below for options and assistance.
AT&T-supplied gateway routers (BGW210, BGW320, and similar) are ISP-managed devices. Custom DNS settings are often unavailable or locked by AT&T.
What you can try
Look for Home Network → IP Passthrough or Advanced → DNS Settings (if present). On most AT&T gateways, DNS fields are limited or absent.

Known gotchas for AT&T (ISP gateway)
- AT&T gateways often do not expose a DNS field at all; custom DNS is not supported on most models.
- IP Passthrough mode (similar to bridge mode) can route traffic to your own router placed behind the AT&T gateway; ask AT&T support about this if you want router-level filtering.
- Router-level AnchorVow protection is not reliably available on AT&T-supplied gateways; the per-device AnchorVow app is the primary protection.
